How to make a sponsored post
When a brand pays you for a post, the post should say so. Studio adds a short line at the top of the post, such as "Paid partnership with Acme", with the brand's logo if you like.
Before you start
- The Studio plan, the Agency plan or Agency Lite.
- A post for the selected profile.
Steps
- Go to Studio and open Sponsored posts.
- Tap the post you want to sponsor.
- Type the Brand name.
- Choose the label: Paid partnership or Ad.
- Optional: click Upload logo and choose the brand's logo (PNG, JPG, WebP, SVG or HEIC).
- Check the Preview, then click Save sponsor.
- Click Download PNG, or download the post as usual from My posts, Today or a ZIP.
- Under Caption with the disclosure, click Copy caption and paste it into Instagram. Its first line, such as "Paid partnership with Acme #ad", tells your followers the post is an ad.
What to expect
- The line is written in the post's language (for example "Parteneriat plătit cu Acme" on a Romanian post).
- The logo is drawn in black ink, like the rest of the post.
- The text of the post moves down a little so nothing overlaps.
- Sponsored posts show a Sponsored tag in the Studio post picker.
- The caption starts with the disclosure in the post's language, followed by "#ad". Approval links show the same caption to your client.
- On a phone, the preview is at the top so you see the result while you fill in the details.
Tip: when you publish on Instagram, also switch on Instagram's own Paid partnership label, and follow the brand's and your country's advertising rules.
If something goes wrong
- "Add the brand name or its logo" – type the brand's name or upload a logo before saving.
- "Sponsor logo couldn't load" – the brand's logo file can't be read. The post is still drawn, with the sponsor line but without the logo. Click Change logo and upload it again.
- To remove the line – choose the post and click Remove sponsor.
- You left the Studio plan and a post still has a sponsor line – open Studio. Under Your sponsored posts, click Remove sponsor line. Adding or changing a sponsor needs the Studio plan, but removing one is always possible.
