How to use your own domain for approval links
Your approval links can use your own address, like review.youragency.com, instead of hueink.com. Your clients then see your domain in their browser and nothing from HueInk on the page.
Before you start
- The Studio plan or the Agency add-on. Agency Lite doesn't include approval links.
- A domain you own, and access to the place where you manage its DNS (usually where you bought the domain).
- A subdomain to use, like review. Your main domain (youragency.com) can't be used, and your website isn't affected.
Steps
- Go to Studio and open Approval links.
- Under Your own domain, type your subdomain, for example
review.youragency.com, and click Connect domain. - HueInk shows you the records to add. Copy them into your DNS settings exactly as shown. There is always a CNAME record, and sometimes a TXT record as well.
- Come back and click Check again. When the domain works, you see Connected.
Tip: if your DNS is on Cloudflare, set the record to DNS only (grey cloud).
What to expect
- It usually takes a few minutes, but DNS changes can take up to 48 hours.
- The secure padlock is set up for you. There is nothing to buy or install.
- Every new link you create uses your domain.
- Links you already sent keep working. To use your domain on one of them, replace
hueink.comin the link with your domain. - Your domain shows approval pages only. Opening it without a full link shows "Not found".
If something goes wrong
- It still says "Waiting for DNS" — check for typos in the records, wait a little longer and click Check again.
- "That domain is already in use somewhere else" — it is connected to another site or account. Remove it there first, or use a different subdomain.
- I want to change the domain — click Remove domain, then connect the new one. Links you sent with the old domain stop working on it, but they still open on hueink.com.
